Finding Svanholm

You can easily plan your route to Svanholm using Google-Maps. Choose Get directions and enter Svanholm Alle 2 4050 Skibby as end address. You may take the directions below as a little help to confirm that you looked up the right place. Note, that the destination marker for Svanholm at Google is slightly of the spot, i.e. it is too high. Svanholm is half way between Kyndbyvej and Venslevleddet. But, simply choose Satellit view at Google maps and you will see the buildings.

By car, from Frederikssund

• Head west on 53/J.F. Willumsens Vej. You will leave Frederikssund driving over a long bridge, which crosses the Roskilde Fjord.
• On the other side, turn left at 53/Skovnæsvej.
  Follow now [53] for about 8.0 km (takes circe 8 mins)
  Go through 1 roundabout (in Lyngerup)
• Approximately 2.8km behind Lyngerup turn right at Kyndbyvej.
• After further 1.7 km turn left into Svanholm Alle (a street with lots of trees on both sides).
• After another 0.4 km, in the forest ahead of you, is Svanholm. The entrance is between two white, very similar buildings, standing right at the street.

By car, from Copenhagen via Roskilde

• ... somehow manage to get on [21] heading west.
• Take exit 15-Gevninge toward Gevninge/Frederikssund, 0.3 km
• After 300 m slight right at Hornsherredvej and continue for 1.3 km. Go through 1 roundabout.
• Continue straight to stay on Hornsherredvej and follow it through Lyndby and Sæby, a nice route along the Roskilde Fjord.
• In Biltris the Hornsherredvej will end at a crossing with [53]. Turn right towards Frederikssund.
• Continue on [53]. At the third exit to Skibby turn left into Svanholm Alle (don't turn into Skibby).
• Continue about 3.2 km on Svanholm Alle. It will take some time before you reach Svanholm from this side on Svanholm Alle. Just continue until you come to a small forest. Svanholm will be on the left side of the road. The entrance is between two white, very similar buildings, standing right at the street.

With train and bus

Coming from Copenhagen you can take the S-train H or H+ towards Frederikssund. Take the train to its final destination, Frederikssund, where you change to either of these bus lines:

• 323 direction Skibby. Get off the bus at Solbakkeskolen stop, which you will find on the list of stops between Dalby and Kyndby. See below how to walk from there to Svanholm.

• 229E (only working days) direction Roskilde. Get off the bus at Krogstrup Kirke stop. See below how to walk from there to Svanholm.

• 239 (only working days) direction Roskilde. Get off the bus at Krogstrup Kirke stop. See below how to walk from there to Svanholm.

You may also take the train to Roskilde and from there take either of these bus lines:

• 229E (only working days) direction Frederikssund. Get off the bus at Krogstrup Kirke stop. See below how to walk from there to Svanholm.

• 239 (only working days) direction Frederikssund. Get off the bus at Krogstrup Kirke stop. See below how to walk from there to Svanholm.

• 226 (only working days) direction Skibby. Get off at end stop. See below how to walk from there to Svanholm.

Yep, in case of 229E and 239 it's the same bus lines and stop to get off, just coming from the other direction.

Walking from Skibby, Solbakkeskolen or Krogstrup Kirke stop to Svanholm

• From Skibby: From there it is about 4 km walk to Svanholm. Continue on Skibby's main road, pass a supermarked and a big shop for building materials. Leave the village. Cross the country road [53] and directly on the other side begins Svanholm Alle. Prepare for a bit of walking, since you need to follow that road for 2.5 km. After 2 km you will see Svanholm lying behind some trees, close to a forest.

If you come from Solbakkeskolen or Krogstrup Kirke you will reach Svanholm from the other side of Svanholm Alle.

• From Solbakkeskolen: The stop is beside a school. From there you can see Svanholm Alle, a road with lots of trees on both sides leading to a forest. Svanholm is 'hidden' behind it. Just follow the bycicle path along Svanholm Alle. It will be about 1 km / 10 min walk.

• From Krogstrup Kirke: From there it is about 3 km walk (30 minutes) to Svanholm. Close to the bus station a road branches off the main road [53]. Its name is Kyndbyvejen. Follow that road (for about 1.7 km / 20 min) until you come to a school complex (on the right) and a road with lots of trees on both sides (on the left). Turn left into that road, Svanholm Alle and follow it into the little forest. After 10 minutes you will arrive at Svanholm.
